So i am planning to buy a rx 570 after selling my gtx 1050 and i need a 8 pin power connector to power the rx but my 450 watt psu only has a 6 pin connector so i was wondering if buying an adapter will be an option because if i buy the rx 570 now it will take me some time to gather some money for a better power supply.

If your PSU doesn't have the necessary connectors for your components, that PSU has no business being in a PC. If you're going to need an adapter, most often the platform on your PSU will not have the necessary power to output, regardless of how you wire up to the device.

That being said, what is the make and model of your PSU and how old is it?
