Long story short, a storm fried half of my PC, got everything changed except my CPU and motherboard, warranty covered everything, only 2 new purchases were a good CPU cooler and an R9 390X (crypto boom, didn't have my older card in stock). I changed my drivers, got the newest ones, then it crashed my PC 15 minutes after booting, then I installed the "safe" drivers, crashed 15 minutes after booting, then I reinstalled my OS, updated any and all drivers on my PC including motherboard BIOS, I think you get the picture. So I thought I got a miner or a defective card, but after having my PC sit at the repair shop for 3 months, I was too much of an impatient 16 year old and got my Intel HD Graphics 4600 to tank a whole lot of League of Legends in defeat.
Fast-forward 2 years later, I got an RX 570 8GB as a birthday gift, popped that bad boy in, got the drivers for it and history repeated itself. Same crash pattern, same everything. So I opened up my case and as expected - a capacitor for my PCI-E slot was more inflated than my ego after getting lucky at parties a few too many times. So now I'm looking at replacing my motherboard and finally playing Sekiro that I impulse bought after getting my RX 570. My option is selling one GPU to get a good motherboard and swap my components on it.
But before pressing F in the chat for my Asrock H97M anniversary, I was faced with a dilema - which card do I sell assuming both are 100% okay? I have looked at raw numbers and the R9 390X wins, no contest, but looking at benchmarks they go all over the place, sometimes they perform the same, sometimes one vastly outperforms the other. So which one would you keep and which one would you sell?
