Question RX 570 LOW FPS

Hi,
so I recently upgraded from a 1050 to an rx 570 and the thing is I don't see a lot of fps improvments, some games run even worse.

My PC specs are:
GPU: Amd athlon x4 860k
GPU: RX 570
PSU: CORSAIR VS450
RAM: 8GB DDR3

After a GPU upgrade you have to reinstall your OS- or reset your drivers.

Are you sure? I did install the new drivers for the rx 570.

If you haven't already, use DDU to uninstall all previous drivers and then reinstall AMD drivers. If that doesn't change anything, look at CPU usage, you may be bottlenecked. Another way to check for this is to lower resolution and see if FPS improves significantly. If not, it's probably a CPU bottleneck.

I just tried that and there is a little bit of improvement in some games, but Gta V for example used to ran at 60fps everything on high, now it is at 30fps.

It ran 60 fps with high settings with a GTX 1050? What resolution?

And also I ll put NFS Payback as an example it ran around 50-60 fps, now its at 30fps
CSGO ran at around 80fps, no improvements with the 570

Can you monitor the CPU and GPU clock speeds with the RX 570 to see what they are while gaming, and if there are any dips?

Your CPU is the bottleneck. It's a socket FM2 board that can't push the new card fast enough. That's why you're not seeing an improvement.

Yeah, but he shouldn't be seeing a significant regression as he seems to be.

I just tried Battlefront 2 on ultra settings and it runs at around 70fps, cpu usage is around 90%

Is Battlefront 2 one of the games where you get significantly worse performance than with the GTX 1050 with the same settings? If so, can you verify that the CPU frequency maintains a consistent ~3.7-4 GHz? And that the GPU maintains a consistent clock speed roughly around 1200 MHz?

No Battlefront 2 is actually an improvement but I am trying CSGO right now, and in the task manager it shows that CPU usage is only 30%

I don't really trust task manager. Try something like HWiNFO64. Looks at the highest CPU usage across the individual cores. But like I said, I think you should look at CPU and GPU frequency to make sure nothing is throttling.

Just checked The Witcher 3 using rivatuner, cpu usage is around 80ish%, gpu is running at 1340mhz

That looks reasonable to me. How does Witcher 3 performance with the 570 compare to the 1050?

I think it ran around 40fps on medium-high settings

And what's the FPS with the 570 at med-high settings?

So you're getting significantly better FPS with the 570... so what exactly is the problem? If you're only having issues with certain games, then the results for those games are what's relevant.

Are you using 1x8 gn stick or ram in single channel or or 2 sticks of ram in dual channel? Running a single stick becomes an issue when you're running faster hardware.

Its not certain games, its the majority, there are just a few games that run better
