Hi there,

I have got a Rx 570. Everything is normal when I am playing games. The issue appears when I am on idle (the only thing running is MSI Afterburner). The clock is working normal (300 mhz) and suddenly, it accelerates about 1000 mhz. These spikes last about 2 or 3 seconds and then they stop. Its annoying because it makes the temp raises a little. What I find rare the most is the fact that the spikes happens at the exact time again and again and the speed of the clock during the spike is the same too.

Are you sure that there are no programs running in the background using your graphics power? Maybe wallpaper engine or something.

No. In fact, i compared the usage of the gpu with the mhz frequency during the spikes and there is no relation with each other. Moreover, i run the device administrator during the spikes and there is not any app consuming anything at the time of a spike.

I have done some further research and most signs indicate that you have some kind of malware using up your graphics card. Possibly a crypto mining bot or some other malware. I recommend running a Ccleaner scan on your PC to see if that fixes the problem: Ccleaner download: https://www.ccleaner.com/download . (Don't buy it just use the free version.)

Malware is the first thing I dismiss. I ve reinstalled the system a week ago to do a cleaning. The games I installed are all original from official launchers (Steam, Origin, Epic). Also, the drivers of my chipset and card are updated and downloaded from the manufacturer. Windows 10 is updated and official too.

Sounds like a hardware issue then. Do you still have warranty on your card? Maybe you could get it replaced.

I don't have the warranty because I disarm the card to do the cleaning. I personally thing it's software thing. Maybe drivers, but I don't know
Maybe try to reset your bios. Or update your bios. And if that doesn't work, try doing a clean windows install without carrying anything over. Copy important files of course (game saves, photos, projects, etc.)

Same problem with my rx 580 4gb. Probably drivers. Ran malwarebytes multiple times found nothing. Only happened when i updated to win 11
22.11.2 drivers

EDIT: With the new drivers of the GPU (Adrenalin 23.2.2) the problem is still happening.

It looks like a common issue. I was about to test the newer drivers but I think I'll stay on 22.11.1 for now. Someone on the AMD forums suggested ReLive could be causing the issue but removing it would make me lose the overlay and hotkeys and I kinda need them.

I'd say AMD needs to fix this but Polaris hasn't been a priority since before I bought my RX 580 2048SP.
