I want to play games on my Samsung 4k 40", on ultra 1080p.

Now, I can buy a used rx 570 or gtx 970. Which one do you guys suggest?

Solution
They are very close in performance.
However, the only reason to buy the gtx970 would be if its price was reduced, considering that it lacks warranty and is outdated.
For example, if the rx570 costs $250 and the gtx 970 costs $150, it is worth getting the gtx970.
If the price difference is less than $50, definitely go for the much newer rx570.
However, don't expect to be able to play at 4K with any of these video cards, unless you play games with low requirements and at low settings.
You hopefully will be able to game at 1080p ULTRA though, with 60+ fps in most games with either of these options.
Additionally, you will have to change your PSU before getting a new graphics card as the Thermaltake TR2 series are not very reliable...

Finally, you would also benefit by adding an extra stick of RAM, in order to have 8GB, which will help with gaming and multitasking
