[SOLVED] RX 580 2 Molex to 8 pin

So I just bought a RX 580 MSI Armour edition after a few years of staying with a 730,and after I plugged it in the PCIe slot I noticed that I do not have an 8 pin connector but what I DO have are 2 4 pin molex connectors.After searching a bit on the internet I found that you can use an adaptor to convert 2 molex to one 8 pin but I just don't know how safe that is.Can it fry my MB or even the GPU or just the adaptor?My PSU came with the case(Spire CoolBox D201B 500W)

You need a new psu, your current unit is hot garbage. That junk psu plus molex adapters is a house fire waiting to happen.

simple answer if your PSU have not the connectors that is needed then will not have enough power for that GPU

If you need to adapt molex to an 8 pin then the powersupply is not meant for running a higher wattage gpu

Wow I didn't expect so many responses so quickly.Are these PSU good enough:Riotoro Builder Edition, 600W, 80 Plus or the Corsair CV Series™ CV550, 80 Plus® Bronze?They fit into my budget while being quite good.Also if it matters my MB is an Asus H81M plus with an i7 4th generation and 16gb of ram

It’s best to go with bigger name products especially when it comes to power supply’s

Sorry if I fill this thread with replies but in your post or whatever is called I couldn't see the new Corsair CV series.What do you think of it?

I don't personally have any experience with it, but I'm given to understand that it's an older design. I'd avoid it.

The Riotoro builder isn't a bad budget unit. I have yet to see a review on the CV.

Fromm What I've seen, the CV series is your basic entry level budget psu, basically built to be an OEM replacement for simple home/office use. But it handled a 9900k OC'd to 5.2GHz and didn't sqwark. So I think it'd do for Op needs.
