I was thinking of buying a Gigabyte AORUS RX 580 8GB to go along with my Ryzen 3 2200g but I was wondering if my CoolerMaster MWE 550w 80 Plus Bronze PSU would be good enough? The recommended PSU for the 580 was 500w but should I upgrade just to be safe? Or should I just get a GTX 1060 6GB in case the RX 580 8GB will bottleneck my CPU?

Solution
[strike]Which connectors does the RX requires?[/strike]
6pin in general can provide 150W+75W from pcie.
My Rx 480 runs off VS550 orange without issue and pulls on stock 150W, on undervolt barley 100W, ofc Crysis 3 skybox test.
One 8pin should be capable of handling that card.
My vs550 handled gtx 470 very well.

Yeah, 550 watt will be enough for your system. I am not a big fan of the CoolerMaster Master Watt, but it wont burn your house down. If you want a better PSU go for a quality PSU from EVGA, Corsair, or Seasonic.

As for the 1060 vs 580, performance wise they are just about identical. The 580 will pull a bit more power than the 1060, but not enough to need a bigger PSU.

no need to upgrade, 550w is plenty for your system, quality aside, it claims to provide 43 A on the 12 v rail. So, number-wise it’s perfectly capable of supplying the cpu and gpu at the same time, I think on average your cpu and gpu pulls about 25a or less on the 12v (300w) during intense gaming session.

So it’s fine.
