Hey guys, looking to upgrade from a rx 560 to an rx580 (or something of the sort)

However, my PSU only has a 6-pin connector and this cards use 8 pin. The PSU is 650w.

Is it safe to use a 6 to 8 pin adapter? In the 560 manual its not recommended to use adapters, but im guessing thats just companies being safe.

My other components are an Asus B-350M-A with ryzen 5 2400g and 16gb ram.

Any advice or rule of thumb for there situations will be much appreciated.

No, they are right. You really should not use any adapters, sometimes a dual 6 pin to single 8 pin is okay to use, assuming the PSU is quality.
Single 6 pin to single 8 pin is not recommended.
OKay, so mi only choice is to upgrade the PSU? or in any case, do you know any potent GPU that uses 6 pin?
