RX 580 Mobile, Worth a Re-paste?

I have a 17 inch HP omen, 2017 Ed. With a RX580 8gb and a 7700hq.


Good heat-sinks on the laptop but temps are sub-par.

Would you advise a re paste or is it pointless anymore?

I wouldn't, it will probably void your warranty if you take it apart. What is "subpar?" You can't expect desktop temps on a laptop, 85C is pretty normal for a laptop GPU.

I'm not familiar with the HP Omen, nor the 580 mobile solution. But if you do decide to do a re-paste, please take pictures to help the community.

75-80 on the cpu at under half loads is more of a issue then the gpu is.

75-80C on a laptop CPU is nothing to worry about. The tjunction on that CPU is 100C

Guess I have been out of the laptop loop for so long. Used to Water cooling. Just didn't expect temps to be this bad.

They aren't bad temps, the mobile CPUs are designed to handle higher temps. It's just the mobile reality.
