Just wondering the difference in these 2 cards, including thermals. I think the Sapphire looks amazing, and I believe the xfx has better cooling. They have the same clock speed and pretty sure everything is the same. On the last gen sapphire it had a different cooling apparatus. Thanks for the comments

hey sr-71, i know for the 480 the xfx gtr vs teh sapphire was major like temp wise the xfx card was 5-10 degrees lower (Celsius )

now we have the 580 which the sapphire limited edition came out and so has the new xfx gtr-x
the 580 limited has a new innovated cooling over the previous addition right? and if so im just wondering thermal wise how it would stack against the gtr-x.

Sapphire NITRO+ RX 580 Limited Edition 1257 MHz 1450 MHz 2000 MHz 10.24 inches/260 mm, 1x DVI 2x HDMI 2x DisplayPort
XFX GTR-S RX 580 Black Limited Edition OC+ 1257 MHz 1450 MHz 2025 MHz 11.02 inches/280 mm, 1x DVI 1x HDMI 3x DisplayPort
with the specs above the only difference is teh xfx having more displayports and less hdmi plus a higher memory speed over the nirto, leaving just temps left now i have seen the sapphire temps but not any for the gtr-s

I agree. Sapphire would be my choice based on personal experience and also historical reviews. I've owned a few cards from each manufacturer and Sapphire have been solid. The XFX cards are hit or miss. Don't get me wrong, the XFX models look great but the cooling and reliability are not very consistent between models. Sapphire does a much better job developing aftermarket cooling solutions and they are known to have great customer support (I've never had to use it so I don't know). I have had to RMA with XFX and the process is long, involved, and drawn out.
