rx 580 to secondary vga monitor

Greetings.
I'd like to connect my rx580 to a second vga-only monitor, for a project. I understand that I'd have to use a converter to do so, and I've seen some cheap(<10EUR) displayport-to-vga adapters. However in their features it says display port 1.1 or 1.2 . My question :is the 1.4 of the rx580 backwards compatible? Will the adapter recognize the 1.4? Thank you for your time.

Yeah get a 1.2 based ACTIVE adapter. Needs to be an active one to work.
