RX 580 under performing?

so recently, i built my own computer for the first time. im pretty new to all this computer stuff, so bear with me. i got a radeon RX 580 devil powercolour, since i saw a lot of online benchmarks saying it can get 56fps average in assassins creed odyssey. my card however only roduces a 22 fps average. ive tried overclocking it to 1500mhz as my friend suggested, but that only gave me like 1 or 2 fps boost. it is not a matter of the CPU bottlenecking it either, since i have a Ryzen 7 1700. here are my specs:

-Radeon RX 580 8gb Devil
-Ryzen 7 1700
-16gb 3000 RAM
-EVGA supernova g2 750 W 80+ gold

if you need any other information, just ask. i hope i can get this solved and get the most out of my card.

I would check and make sure you are running the latest drivers. Also if you recently changed to a different graphics card I'd recommend using Display Driver uninstaller to get rid of the old drivers and install a fresh copy from AMD or Nvidia.

Download your chipset drivers for Ryzen Power Plan Click Here Once downloaded restart your computer.

Next I'd recommend going into the BIOS and enabling XMP mode for your Memory. RYZEN LOVES HIGH RAM SPEED.

First your ram is running at 2400 mhz, need to enable xmp/docp in bios

Second your gpu is definitely not up to full speed

Download msi afterburner and check to see if the boost clock is spinning all the way up when running the benchmark

okay, i turned on XMP, and now the benchmarking program says this: "ERROR: Plane GPU benchmark failed, aborting further tests on this GPU". i already had afterburner, and yes, its getting to 1500 mhz when testing.

Close everything and run the test again.

quick correction, its only reaching about 1150 mhz at this time. when i play games it reaches 1500 though, but no difference. ill retry one more time

Yeah I just realized that 1500MHZ is like watercooling overclocks. That's a pretty darn good OC. However revert the GPU back to stock and turn the power limit up to max.

Try the 2019 AMD Drivers.....

tried this, still wont test the GPU. should i try turning XMP off and seeing if that solves it? here are the results it did gather though: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/13828284

Its telling me 2400 mhz. I'll try going into bios again to make sure once the GPU updates

i put it down to 1400 and put power limit +10%. still wont work. im going to set everything back to defaults and see if that works.
