Question Rx 590 incompatibility

Hi all

A few days ago I bought a new rx 590, when installing the card I took all the right steps, uninstalled all nvidia drivers, took my old card out, and put my new card in. My PC booted up with no issues and was in a lower resolution (720 maybe?). I went online to get drivers for my card when the screen flashed and changed to 1080 on it's own. A few seconds later the screen froze and I had to reboot the system. Upon reboot the computer could not get into windows. I tried the old card, to recover windows, nothing worked. Had to reinstall windows to fix the issue. Also tried a new rx 590 with the same issue.

I'm thinking it might have to do with my old motherboard and cpu (i7 2600)

I also have a 750 watt bronze psu

Board and CPU shouldn't be an issue , it flashed to 1080 resolution because Windows 10 installed an AMD driver. That is normal.

So what would he cause the freezing that results in my windows not being able to boot up?

Some parts are from a prebuilt gateway fx 6860

I7 2600
Acer ipisb-vr rev 1.01 motherboard (OEM?)
16gb ddr3 1333 (4x4)
240gb ssd boot drive
500gb hard drive

The power supply is the stock one from the gateway prebuilt. 750 watt bronze, here's what I found about it

The guy at the computer store said it may be an issue with the motherboard not being able to provide enough power through the pcie slot?
