Hi all is the rx 6600 a good 1080p card for gaming and will perform well with a modded Skyrim? Is the 8gbs of vram enough? Will the rx 6600 last a long time at 1080p?

It is a decent 1080p card, certainly. Good for 1440p at 60hz as well.

Can't really say how much VRAM your particular mods will use.

Give this topic a read, seems to be good information in regards to the differences between AMD and Nvidia when it comes to Skyrim. Big takeaway is that your CPU may be just as important to keep single thread speeds as high as possible.

Whoa sounds like I might have to make some compromises with Skyrim. Other than that is this a good gpu for 1080p gaming

I've been recommending it a lot since it is cheaper than the RTX3060 (So are a few 6600XT). Take a look at the games you play and benchmarks for them with the RX6600.

If you aren't using any of Nvidia's ray-tracing, encoders, or AI features, RNDA2 is a fine platform for gaming.

As to longevity. Well, hard to predict, there already AAA games out there for which you have to run lower settings, but they are not the norm. Being closer to the bottom of the stack, it will become obsolete more quickly, but it is also relatively cheap (these days) Re-sell value should be okay, so you might lose a few hundred if you have to sell it 2 years from now.

Thank you the rtx 3060 is way more expensive for not that much more performance and waiting for new GPUs is always a problem.
