Build Advice RX 9060 XT build thoughts ?

€1200 (€1250 stretching it) budget to work with.

We have a German kid that hangs out on our discord and fills in every now and then (Delta Force). He's playing on a laptop of all things. The PSU could be better but his budget is tight and he needs wifi. Hoping the 16GB version of that card doesn't exceed 400 euros and if it does I'll probably change up to a 750W psu and throw in a RX 7700 XT.

There's no need of a ID-COOLING FROZN A620 for cooling 7500f. Just pick Deepcool AG500 and buy a better fan to replace the original fan on it, then put the original fan to the back of the case to pipe heat out.

i would replace that power supply .
GD is a cut down version of GM with warranty limited in half
and worse internal components :

don´t cheap on it and get this instead:
https://geizhals.de/fsp-vita-gm-850w-atx-3-1-vita-850gm-ppa8504202-a3170131.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

the price difference between 650w and 850w model of vita GM is 7 bucks
so there is no reason to go with 650w and to be limited in terms of future upgrades
I just noticed that FSP psu only has a 5 year warranty =/

How about this one?

there are 2 version of this unit (i bet it is a lottery which one gets shipped to you)
there is even a confusion as to which OEM makes it ,
but there are 2 options and neither of them is good .
best case scenario you will get a cut down GF A3 .
personally i would avoid these PSUs especially considering
you are already at 80 with this unit .
just pay those less than 20€ extra and get an A tier psu .

if i was absolutely forced to use a cheap power supply in the past in budget builds
this was my go to unit before 3.0 era:
https://geizhals.de/adata-xpg-pylon-750w-atx-2-52-pylon750b-bkceu-a2440092.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

here is a review - https://www.techpowerup.com/review/adata-xpg-pylon-750-w/3.html
it can deliver more than 1000w before shutting down
and it has decent enough build quality overall for a 50Є unit .
of course i always explained to the end user that this psu is not fully recommended
and make sure that he understands we are cutting down the cost on his "orders" .
that being said i never had one failling on me yet .

i would still get 7500f over 8400f , it is faster in both single and multithread performance
and it has pcie 5.0 connectivity and 24 usable pcie 5.0 lanes instead of pcie 4.0 and 16 lanes on 8400f
it also has 32mb of L3 cache instead of 16mb and it boosts higher out of the box
(with PBO enabled it is basically ryzen 7600x(f) )

This leaves the kid roughly €400 for a gpu ... that works ^^

9060xt 16gb for sure - better FSR and RT , lower power consumption ,
more VRAM and basically the same rasterization performance .

paying almost 400Є for an old mid tier card is not worth it in my opinion ,
at that point i would be looking for rtx 4070 at second hand market place ...

I doubt the kid will be using RT (1080P + first person shooters), but the extra VRAM is nice and like you say the fps are near identical. It comes down to street price for that card.

yes but just in case he will it´s nice to have some extra performance ,
he may also want to try FSR at some point and 4.0 version is much superior to 3.0 ...

of course it all comes down to street price
but amd would be cr@zy if this card will cost nearly as much as 5060Ti 16gb .

i think the price will be near identical to 7700xt
in which case 9060xt is a better product all things considered.

It may be worth looking for a used 3080 10/12/ti for around 350-400. In the US they go for around that in dollars and much better performance, better features. It has less VRAM than a 7700XT, but at 1080p 10gb should be fine for at least a couple years.

Final build (crosses fingers). On the plus side this board supports PCIe 5.0 as does this gpu.
