News RX 9070 GRE pre-orders go live in China — May 8 retail, $575 MSRP, and 6% faster than the RX 7900 GRE

This is all about China. There should be no complaints until such time they decide to take the launch global and come up with a $USD MSRP. As far as we're concerned, there is no card between the 9060 XT 16 GB and 9070 16 GB.

Honestly, this would hit the budget just perfectly for me. AMD needs to drop it world wide.
They probably will when they have enough stock, but given that these are made from defective die's, we may be waiting a little while. Then whatever the stock is released it will disappear, just like the 7900 GRE did. RDNA 4 really did bring some excellent performance and efficiency gains though, 48 CU's outperforming 80 while using less power and clocking 30% higher.

AMD released duds before, it's not just Nvidia. The 7800XT was no better than the 6800XT, sometimes worse. Look here for example:

https://www.hardwaredealz.com/produ...rx-7800-xt-16gb-vs-amd-radeon-rx-6800-xt-16gb

The difference is literally even less than this time around, lmao.
👍

My only point, was that a 6% leap in raster is very low considering its the newer RDNA.

I'm not talking about price or anything else.

That's true for the 7800xt as you mentioned.

I wouldn't call the raster leap very low either honestly. The 7900 GRE is being more than matched by a chip that is using 40% less CU's, is clocked 30% higher, and is using less power while doing it. If they can work out the pricing and stock, it may be a pretty good option. I'd also love to see how efficient you can get it by tweaking the voltage and clocks.
