So im looking to get the new GPU and yes, i know this question was here many times but i still want to ask. I used only NVidia GPUs before, currently owning GTX 650 and i want to know which one should i get. Both cost same price, RX goes for 237€ Sapphire Nitro+ and GTX 1060 for about 240€. I read that 3GB 1060 is worse than 6GB 1060 while both memory versions of RX480 are the same. Which one is more futureproof (im planning to play on 1080p only).

I'd say 1060,but my question is - will my fx 6300 (OCed to 4.3GHZ) bottleneck a 6gb 1060? Might take that cuz of more CUDA cores.

Where did you read that? Of course the 1060 6 GB edition is better, but I'll be honest, not much. But anyways, I think you can get a 6 GB 1060 from EVGA for your budget. Try finding it, 1060 is my recommendation.

Correct, the GTX 1060 6GB could be seen as a GTX 1060 Ti in comparison to the GTX 1060 3GB. It has lower specs in nearly every department. However NVIDIA decided to name them to same. Their choice.

There is also a difference in memory speed with the RX 480 4GB vs. 8GB, 7000 vs. 8000 Mhz.

July benchmarks actually aren't accurately representative anymore since AMD has improved performance per driver since then, and again in the latest AMD drivers from last week. Some titles have shown improvements of 10 up to 15% on Polaris GPU's and GCN GPU's in general.

An actual comparison would really need a recent benchmark in this case.

PLUS, mind that It's possible that Digital Foundry tested the GTX 1060 6GB in that benchmark. I don't think the 3GB versions were released yet.

OK,i will keep looking for GTX 1060 6GB,thanks for the answers. Also i have Athlon X4 740,im pretty sure it will bottleneck it but im waiting for Zen CPU with AM4,i dont think any A10 is worth it right now and i dont wanna go for FX with AM3,since its old socket and most likely to be discontinued.

Yeah that will bottleneck quite a bit sometimes.

Is that a confirmed thing that Zen will support only DDR4? As far as i know i thought its gonna be like Skylake, DDR4 support and recommendation but also supporting DDR3i i even saw DDR3 MOBAs with Skylake. That would be awful since i bought 16GB DDR3 memory quite recently.

Well Nvidia probably updated their drivers too, you can't be so sure.
Also I made a mistake with posting that video, but he did compare the RX 480 8 GB with it so it's the same thing.

I keep track of both drivers. Nvidia Geforce hasn't improved GTX 1060 performance since launch.

You can check driver performance data within the following subs on reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/
https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/

Performance for Nvidia drivers can be found within patch note threads here:

Hm.. sorry about that. I mean, Nvidia would definitely release new drivers soon but one can't be sure. So now I would actually prefer the 8 gigs RX 480, get 4 gigs if 8 is not in your budget. But you can find an XFX version for 239$
