i was going to buy an asus DUAL-RX480-O4G, on their product page there are VGA drivers, updated on 2017. do i need the vga driver or do i install the amd crimson driver for the RX480 or does that only work on the amd rx480?

Always use the AMD Crimson drivers from AMD's website. Whatever they have on the ASUS website is likely a few releases behind.
Normally, the VGA drivers updated at the same time as AMD does. But to be complety sure, download it from the AMD website. (At today, latest one is 13.3.3b)

so i shouldnt install the asus one that was updated a month ago? will there be any changes made by asus to the driver or are they all the same?
