I've an old mobo, a Boostar TA890fx, that I've upgrade the graphics card in. It's a RX480 card with extra power connectors on that card. Both connectors are connected to the psu, but there is also an extra molex connector on the mobo. The manual says it's for supplying extra power to graphics card. Do I really need this when the extra connectors on the card itself is connected?

Ok, thanks!
I got issues with graphics driver crashes when playing games, that's why I'm asking. My setup is windows 10 with the latest drivers, anyone else having this kind of issues?

No OC at all, there is a Phenom II X6. The temps looks fine, so the cooling seems enough. I've even down clocking the gpu to 800MHz, without cigars :-(. I hope it's a driver issue and not the hardware setup.
Edit: the manual doesn't say much more than I wrote initially.

CS crashes with a driver message and the driver restart. The CS process needs to be killed in task manager and CS restart manually.

have you been able to recreate this with any other games?
