A rather odd situation this one. When I first got my saphire nitro+ rx480 4gb, it was hitting 1306 Mhz every time I was ingame and staying there, which is step 7 in wattman. Then yesterday I installed the new drivers, and afterwards games felt really sluggish and I checked and saw that it was only getting up to 700Mhz.
Strange. So I thought it must be the new drivers fault, so I uninstalled and installed the old drivers but it stayed exactly the same at 700mhz under load. Thinking it was pointless to try, as I was now convinced it's a hardware issue that's coincidental with the driver change, I then did a system restore to 5 days ago and suddenly it's boosting to ~1200Mhz, jumping around between 1150 and 1250. I tried increasing the power limit in wattman to +20% but it didn't help.
So a really odd situation where I don't know if I have a software or hardware issue. The only other thing I did yesterday that might have something to do with it, is I installed Radeon Pro, and was messing around with vsync settings for a game, but didn't do any OC'ing or anything. I've since uninstalled RPro.
Any ideas what I can do to try get it back to 1306Mhz?
