PURPOSE: I'm building a video-editng computer to make 1080p to 4K videos for 10-15 minutes in length. No intention of gaming.

My Options:
Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5 256-bit: $240 USD
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 OC 6GB GDDR5 192-bit: $270 USD

My Queries:
Which one is better suited for my purpose? (Any other recommendaton?)
Which will last longer?

Softwares I Use:
  1. Adobe Premier Pro
  2. Adobe Photoshop
  3. Adobe After Effects
  4. Adobe Flash / Animate
  5. Wondershare Filmora
Other Specs:
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Mobo: MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb DDR4 3200
  • PSU: Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold
OVERCLOCKING: No
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

Thanks.

None of them will give you half descent frame rates in that preview quality.
To edit at 4k Resolution without having mayor Frame rate drops you need one of the most powerful cards in the market and also a very updated CPU like i9 9980XE or Threadripper 2990WX.
As for the GPU you will need a Quadro video card.
1080s / 1080ti or even 2080tis are OK as a cheaper option.

If you are going for a buget rig and dont really care for the frame rates at all. The 1660 is the way to go. But i definitly found it like an atrocious workstation for video editing and rendering tasks.

Either cards won't give you a significant edge over the other when it comes to 4K footage creation. The only difference between those two cards would be power draw. How much are you looking to spend?

I can go as far as 1660ti.
Would that make much difference?
or
Shall i get a Ryzen 3700X? But in that case i would have to cut down on GPU. Like RX 570 4GB. Would that make sense?

What will be a more balanced approach?

Okay.
How is it for 1080p projects? or What would you change?
