RX580 CrossFire not working

I am trying to use CrossFire and my second Radeon RX 580 is not recognized by my motherboard (AsRock X470 Master SLI/AC.) Both cards are MSI Radeon RX 580s, and the CPU is the Ryzen 5 2400G. I currently have 16GB of Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4-3466 installed. I am using a 750W EVGA 750 G2 PSU. Both cards work fine in the top slot but I cannot get the motherboard to recognize either card in the bottom slot. Even if I use the card in the bottom slot and I remove the one in the top slot, I will not get any video output from the second card regardless of which one it is.

Incase it's relevant, I also have a 480GB Corsair Force NVMe SSD (OS installed) and a 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD.

Sli/CF will have no display from the second GPU, all monitors need to be connected to the top GPU. Also make sure crossfire is enabled in the AMD settings.

That's what I'm saying, the second GPU isn't recognized by the motherboard. I can't enable it in the AMD settings for this reason. I have tried installing one graphics card and putting it in the second slot. I will get no video output from the slot but it works fine in the first slot. I'm not sure if the second slot is dead or something but I hope not.

It's incredibly rare that the second PCIE slot is defective however it has happened to me when I was running SLI.

It worked for awhile then stopped post thunderstorm with no safety precautions.

Considering you've tried the second slot with no video that's what I'd suspect, sorry it's kind of crappy as you'll need to RMA the board.

It doesn't take much to run the fan, contact Asrock (link above) before RMA.

There's nothing wrong with the mobo. The 2nd x16 slot only works with a ryzen cpu, not an APU, because APUs only have 8 PCIe lanes.

This will be the case with pretty much any mobo AFAIK.

Ah, thank you! I think I'll be exchanging this 2400G ASAP then. I'm glad to know it's not the motherboard because I know they would take a long time to get back to me.
