RX580 Screen Blinks When Playing Games

Hey everyone! Let me start by providing you with my PC specs:

Mobo: MSI A320M PRO-VH Plus
GPU: Gigabyte Auros RX-580 8GB DDR5 256bit
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1300x
Storage: Intel 240GB SSD + 1 TB HDD
RAM: 16 GB Gskill Trident RGB 2400 Mhz (8 x 2)
PSU: SilverStone Strider 600w Gold Fully Modular
Monitor: 27" Dell SE2717H

I've been having this blackscreen / blinking issue while playing games since I've built this PC. The monitor just goes black for like 1-2 seconds and continues to blink while playing games like Witcher 3, Farcry, Battlefield, Diablo 3 - basically, every game that I have in my PC.

I have:

-Uninstalled GPU driver using DDU and installed fresh 18.5.1 driver
-Monitored the temps while the game is on, but they're all normal
-Replaced my HDMI cable with a new one
-Reinstalled my OS and all the drivers

Nothing worked! However, unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable ALWAYS fixes the problem, but I'm trying to find a long-term or permanent solution without having to unplug and replug my HDMI cable from my computer every reboot.

I don't know if this is a GPU, PSU, driver, or a monitor problem, but your insights would be greatly appreciated!

make sure the mb has the newest bios on it to rule out a bios bug. from amd web page download there newest chipset drivers for your mb. one issue i see is you used a no name power supply. the unit may be the error if you can try another test power supply.

Hi man, having the same issue here is my thread but no one seem to reply http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3806808/aourus-radeon-rx580-8gb-black-screen-issue.html Ive got mobo gigabyte ax370 gaming k5 and same issue. This is not mobo related i think cause I've updated everything also, done cmos etc an it doesnt help. I only noticed that increasing power supply to 50% made it happen less frequently but im not sure. Ive contacted amd support with this, after doing every step they ordered (uninstall and install the drivers, changing cables, changing voltages and swapping my graphics card to other PC to make sure its malfunctioning) they suggested me to RMA it on warranty, but i didn't do it yet. Post anything here or in my thread when you figure that out ill do the same.

Hey man, unfortunately, yep, we have the same problem! You've saved me a few hundred bucks thinking that replacing the mobo will resolve the problem! Alright, I'll try to increase the power supply to 50%. I've also read from other threads that disabling all the "Sleep" functions on windows resolved the issue. I'll try them all and I'll update this thread.

Just curious, have you tried updating your drivers to 18.10.2? I uninstalled my current 18.5.1 (Recommended) driver using DDU and installed the optional (latest) version: 18.10.2. The black screen issue has stopped so far, but I'm not quite convinced yet as the same thing happened after I used HDMI to Display port adapter. Need few more days and games to test. I'm running all my games in ULTRA settings btw.

Tried to install 18.10.1 and had only more issues with them, currently running 18.5.1. I wont install any "optional" garbage drivers from amd (which aren't properly tested), only recommended - which are checked and safe i think. I turned down sleep options also and It didn't help. Tried everything that i found for now. Ill update the post when ill know sth more. Btw give a link to that thread under that video on youtube wich we posted. It'll help with the information passing through, ok?

Hey man, so I've managed to fix the issue (tested on all games for 2 days now). I'd say not the best solution, but turning off "AMD Freesync" from my "AMD Radeon Settings > Display" worked like charm! Well, I guess this is better than the stress that this thing has caused for several months now!

Sounds nice, but we didn't pay for a card with freesync in instruction and box only, but for appliable option, which costs money. I'll try that to, and if that occurs as a fix I'll RMA my card I think. Thanks for the info anyway, post up if you know more or something breaks down etc.

Ive got one question towards you. Im also experiencing system freezes during gameplay in certain game - GTA V (dont matter if online or not), and I think its because of my graphics card. In that game I also have black blinks, but randomly it freezes causing me to reboot my PC. Did you ever experience such an issue? Hope you re visiting that thread sitll though.
