Hi. my new gpu seems to spike alot even when using low load paint and photo apps. When playing a game it would go to 100% and the fans would start revving up which is understandable.

When using an art package the gpu would spike from 0 to 100 periodically and the fans would go up and down. The sound is really quite annoying. Has anyone else had this issue and if so do you know how to fix it?

thanks

Solution
No experience in having this issue with the Fatboy. But some tips might help.

It is assumed the video card is not faulty. The varying fan speed while working on any sort of graphics program might be normal, as it is not unusual for video cards to be stressed when assisting the CPU in doing any graphics/video work.

If the fan speed/noise is too much (to bear), then apart from getting another video card, try using this software to enable "tweaking" of the video card.

If the video card allows it, using the software allows adjustment of temperature limit and/or fan speed.

The temperature limit for the video card can be increased, and the video card fan(s) maximum speed can be limited.

CAUTION! Increasing temperature...

It is assumed the video card is not faulty. The varying fan speed while working on any sort of graphics program might be normal, as it is not unusual for video cards to be stressed when assisting the CPU in doing any graphics/video work.

The temperature limit for the video card can be increased, and the video card fan(s) maximum speed can be limited.

CAUTION! Increasing temperature limit and reducing fan speed will in effect allow higher temperature for the video card , but this in turn may reduce the lifespan of the video card due to (slightly) inadequate cooling. So any adjustments to temperature limit and fan speed limit should be kept to a minimum.
