Hello there!

I'm planning to buy a Quest 2, so my RX570 will need a replacement. I'm considering those two cards: 6700XT and the 3060Ti.

I'm from Brazil, so pricing is a little bit different: The 3060Ti is a little bit cheaper than the 6700XT. (-15%)

So, I'm wondering which one would be better? I have a 1080p Freesync screen and the AMD card has 12GB VRAM, but the same performance.

I'm struggling to decide because I don't know if the extra 4GB VRAM makes any difference, and the Freesync aswell, because these boards are kind of overkill for 1080p, so there is no need for Freesync, probably?)

The best brazilian website to check pricing is placasdevideo.app.br

Right now, only the larger VRAM buffer—an increase from 8GB to 12GB—distinguishes the Radeon RX 6700 XT from the RTX 3060 Ti. Although this is a benefit that the 6700 XT will undoubtedly benefit from in the future, there are currently relatively few circumstances in which VRAM becomes significant in terms of raw performance output.

What sort of titles are you looking to tax your system/GPU/VR headset with? I would side with the RTX3060Ti provided you have a good quality, reliably built 750W PSU at your entire system's disposal.
Not Flight Simulator. Hahaha (I would love to, but I know even a 4090 can't handle it in VR)

I'd like to play mostly Boneworks, No Man sky, Skyrim (maybe if I can mod it), Half Life Alyx, and some 'other' games...

I'm going to buy a new PSU anyways, since my Corsair CX450W isn't enough for either.

That and the Freesync. My display is HDMI 1.4, so I can't run Gsync compatible because it needs HDMI2.0

But, the isn't the extra VRAM any good for VR?

6700x unless you are fan of raytraycing , which proved to be an extremely costly and useless hobby
