Im tight on budget so every small cut is needed. Thinking abt having this build for at least 4 years.
Pairing it with B350m-A and a GTX 950 OC, the gtx is kind of fixed, so i just need the thougths abt the cpu.
Or maybe an i5 7500?

"Good enough" means different things to different people. It should probably still render games playable in 4 years if you OC, yes, but I'd imagine it will be kind of like a non-K i5 2500 is to now's games by then, pretty far behind the best chips but still OK.

In Gaming, Ryzen 5 1500X (4 Core / 8 Threads) can`t even beat a Quad Core Intel i5 7400 (4 Core / 4 Threads).
All the Ryzen CPU are mostly focus on affordable prices, not on better performance.

But you get that 1500X it has a large Cooler (AMD Max Cooler) get some performance over whatever you had before.

There are so many things wrong with this statement. First of all the 1500X is 4C/8T.

"All the Ryzen CPU are mostly focus on affordable prices, not on better performance."

That's just wrong, it highly depends on how you define performance. Gaming isn't the only thing you can do with a computer and Ryzen is perfectly fine for gaming anyways.

Finally, an i5 7500 (which has a 300MHz advantage on the 7400) only has about 0-5% of an advantage on a lightly OC'ed 1500X in most games, the 7400 is worse in every way I can think of than a lightly OC'ed 1500X.

What if im not planning to upgrade the cpu for at least 4 years and will upgrade the gpu in 2 years? Is the 1400 still good enough in your opinion?

1500X if dont want to overclock (1500x is already maxed out version) or 1400 if u want to save money and oc ( u might lose warranty but some sellers accept oced cpus for warranty).

Even 1400 beats 7400 very easily. Also 1400 has a lot of spare power for future while 7400 works at 100% capacity in many games.

With intel, i5 7500 is the best option and if you choose AMD, either 1400 or 1500x will be a great choice. I'm using 1400 and have overclocked it to 3.5 ghz that makes perform like 1500x ! Ryzen cpu's are perfect balance between gaming and productivity.
