[SOLVED] Ryzen 1600 with RTX 2060

Hello,

Recently I bought a brand new Ryzen 1600 processor, and I m very happy with it. Now, I had the opportunity to order an RTX 2060 for just 250$ brand new, but I m a little worried that my CPU will bottleneck the GPU.

What do you guys think? Is this a good combo, or should I worry about a bottleneck?

My other specs:

450W 80+ PSU
8GB 2667 MHZ DDR4 2x4gb
250gb NVME storage

Perhaps a little. Depends on what you are doing with it. Some games may be CPU limited if you are after a high FPS ouput, some mild overclocking could help there. But if you are planning to max out the graphics at whatever resolution you are wanting, go for it. Worst case you have to pick up a new CPU at some point.

Good news is that your CPU socket should accept anything in the Ryzen 3000 series, as long as you have a B350, B450, X370, X470, or X570 chipset. Not 100% sure on the A320 boards, pretty sure those have less support for the newer chips, but don't quote me on that. (Overclocking is also not supported on A320)

That CPU/GPU combination is decent for 1080p/60 Hz gaming.
As Eximo said above,as long as you have a decent B350 or B450 motherboard you can always upgrade the CPU to a 2000 or 3000 series CPU in the future.
Just as a reference my Ryzen 5 2600 OC'd to 4 GHz paired with a GTX 1660 Ti Armor OC gets anywhere from 85 to 120 fps at Ultra in current games at 1080p at 60 Hz.

Just because a CPU is not quite as fast a 9700K/9900K does not mean a GPU upgrade is not a good idea...; the 2060 would be awesome for 1080P high/ultra or medium/high 1440P gaming at 60HZ refresh. (The 1600 can sometimes falter with hitting/maintaining minimum high frame rates many like best for 144 Hz monitors, however...)
