[SOLVED] Ryzen 1700 bottleneck 2080ti at 3440x1440?

Hi, so I currently have a 1080ti ftw3 and I play at 3440x1440p and for the most part it is smooth however I do get instances where I do get lag and I’m considering getting a 2080ti and wondering how much of a bottleneck will I have with the ryzen at 3.9ghz. I’m hoping at that resolution the games will still be mainly gpu intensive and not have to upgrade cpu and motherboard with it.

Is the 1700x the bottleneck now? Or is the 1080 Ti? Check the CPU vs GPU usage when gaming.
You'll get about a 30-40% bump in performance moving to the 2080 Ti. But you first need to know if the CPU is choking now.
I suspect it is not. And at that rez, the GPU will have more work to do.

No with a 1080ti my cpu doesnt bottleneck at all, im just wondering if it will with a 2080ti. currently my cpu is around 30-40% in game

Yes, But what is the GPU usage when the CPU is at 30-40% usage? And what game... CPU limited or GPU limited? I suspect you'll be right at the margin.

The Bottlenecker shows a bit if bottleneck, but it it only returns an "on paper" result. Doesn't take into consideration your screen rez or in-game settings for instance. I use it for rough estimates only. In fact it shows your 1080 Ti right a negligible 1.83% BN.
