ryzen 1700 or 2600??

Solution

Well, if you're on a budget, maybe we wait a bit for that :)

Memory is always an easy thing to upgrade, and it's not like you'll be tossing anything you bought new with this go-round. And besides, you might be able to tweak that 2400 kit to get you some 2600 MT/s goodness.
If you use more multi threaded applications I would recommend the 1700. However if it's more so for gaming then the 2600 will suit you better, plus it's on a fairly good sale today

At this moment in my country they are at 170€ xd.

I have another question, is the cooler bundled with the 2600 enough?

The provided cooler will be sufficient unless you plan on overclocking. Also what is the price of the 1700 for you. The 2600 is $145 or 128 euros in the states currently that's why I suggested it. If the 1700 is closer in price to the 2600 it might be worth picking up

There is no sale for me, the 2600 is at 170 €, same for the 1700, so...

Still comes down to what is more important: highly threaded workload or gaming. You can attain much better overclocks with the 2600 than a 1700 but even un-overclocked it has higher stock clock speeds, will keep two cores boosted longer and has better IPC. Probably not enough to overcome the lack of 2 cores/4 threads of simultaneous execution when working all 8 cores of a 1700, but for two cores at a time while gaming it should give a significant advantage while still having enough cores to keep the background OS threads from interfering..

Cool, i have another question.
I know ryzen works better with high frequency ram, but i have some 2400 that i can use. There will be a big difference?

I think it kind of depends, but getting 2666-2933 speed I think definitely does help. And up to 3200 it CAN; but depends a lot on whether you are tweaking timings to keep latency in control. Above 3200, though, latency increasingly over powers clock as you have to really increase timings to stay stable. That said, 3200 is considered the 'sweet spot' since Samsung b-die kits are readily available that offer really low timings even at that speed.

Then should i get new ram or i can keep that 2400 stick?

The only way to fully optimize Ryzen performance is to attain low-latency 3200MT/s (1600Mhz clock speed) from your RAM. So if you are able, yes do get a couple of good sticks and go for it. But I'd suggest stay with b-die so the latency problems don't intrude on gains from increased infinity fabric speed.

Im on a little tight budget, that why i was considering recicling my old ram 🙁
