TIME TO BUILD BUILD BUILD, and I need help confirming I've made the right choices.

Here is my baseline so far. I just want something that will game and game well with a 1070 and a 1080p 144hz. I play fps but also immersive rpgs. I need something that'll be relatively painless, but able to keep up with 2x and 4x DSR too. So I decided I want a Ryzen 1800x. Why? Why not?

CPU: Ryzen 1800x
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H110i Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (let me know if there is a better or more economical option)
GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 (have it)
SSD: 500GB Samsung (have it)
HDD: 1TB (have it)
I need a mobo. I was thinking of the Corsair Hero VI, but I don't know what's the best choice for this build. Suggestions? MSI X370? I heard the x370 mobos are the best choice but there many to choose from. I don't really want to overclock, if that helps. Maybe ASRock X370 TAICHI Socket AM4/AMD X370/DDR4/Quad CrossFireX & SLI/SATA3&USB3.1/M.2/Wi-Fi/A&GbE/ATX Motherboard?
RAM: I'm going to need a suggestion on DDR4 RAM as well. 16gb Preferred, but I want to get performance out of whatever my options are.
Case: I NEED A SICK CASE. Doesn't have to be actually sick, but something DECENT would be swell. Air flow is important. I can find this myself but suggestions are cool. All I need to do to figure this out is measure the mobo I end up using, correct, to ensure it fits? All other parts should otherwise fit as well? Right now thinking of NZXT - Phantom 820 (Black) ATX Full Tower Case

Further details, my peripherals are:
Kraken 7.1 Chroma Surround headset
Razer Naga/Logitech Pro G mice
Blue Yeti Mic
Some old 720p webcam
Sometimes an Xbox PC Controller via bluetooth USB
Monitor is a asus vg278 (27", 144hz /w DP/HDMI.DVI-D)

SUGGESTIONS BOYS?

There's been no confirmation that a 2800X is in the pipe (though it could be). Also, the differential between the two, speculatively speaking, may not be worth the cost spread. Just saying.

2800X could be reaching 4.65+ GHz, which will be worth it imo.

Alternatively, should I consider an i7 intel? What I do most is gaming. I don't render or edit a lot. I do stream. I do like the idea of being economical but I also don't truly understand the benefits of one over the other and if I would actually see what I'm paying for between the two.

I'm not for speculation and conjecture; I'm of the "I'll believe it when I see it" manner of thinking. Though, that said, I suspect at some point a 2800X will surface but when isn't known. I guess that will depend then on how patient the OP is, no?

Let's assume impatient, lol.

Edit:

Also, I'm not really intending to overclock so if there's an option below the 1800x or a different mobo that is cheaper that I can use since I won't be doing that, y'know, feel free.

If you are not overclocking then the i7-8700k is a good choice for you. Get a beefy cooler, enable Multi-core enhancement and call it a day.

6 core/12 thread with high core clocks for all your gaming needs and plenty good for streaming.

Would my mobo choices go well with it or should I look at az370 plus gaming atx?

It has to be an Intel board, preferably Z370, though you now have the option of H370, H310 and B360. High end features are going to be found on Z370 boards. Multi-core enhancement is probably only on Z370, and it is basically one click overclocking so that every core runs at high speed rather then the normal boost profile.

If I had anything bad to say about AMD it is 'stealing' Intel's numbering schemes. Having X370 and Z370 on the market at the same time is a disaster waiting to happen.

Here is a quick recommendation, anyone else feel free to jump in. I've not kept too close an eye on Z370 VRMs and such. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zgDzK8/gigabyte-z370-hd3p-rev-10-atx-lga1151-motherboard-z370-hd3p-rev-10

As for a CPU cooler your choice is expensive, but very good. Air cooling is adequate, but you would still want something large like a Cryorig H5 or thereabouts.

Thanks for all the input guys, as always I appreciate coming here for information and opinions.

I will wait to make a final choice and see what happens with new AMD introductions. However, I am leaning towards the Intel side. I've been on AMD for a while now, loved it for most games. Did struggle on MMOs. I have nothing bad to say about the fx8350.

However I also want to see what Intel has to offer.

Currently I am considering the i5 8600k or the i7 8700k. The choice there depends on how long I would be content with the i5. The 8600k outperforms the i5 8400?

But if AMD manages to give me a blow-away choice my bid is still up.

I'm happy with my 1070, not happy with how poorly it seems to be working with my mobo and cpu.
