Ryzen 2400G No Post

Hello!

I am building my first PC:

Ryzen 5 2500G
Gigabyte AB350N Gaming Wifi Mini Itx
2x4GB GSkill Ripjaws Ddr4-3200
Seasonic M12ii Bronze 520W

I have checked the connections, reseated my CPU, tried with one stick of RAM, and unplugged my storage and non-essentials, as well as resetting the CMOS but I can't seem to get to post.

I've also verified that my HDMI and monitor are working properly.

The motherboard is stickered as "AMD Ryzen Desktop 2000 Ready" so it should have the BIOS compatible with my CPU/APU.

The current situation is that, when I power on, the onboard lights flash once, the fans spin properly, and there is a short beep, but nothing is displayed.

Any help is appreciated!

Board doesn't have a BIOS to boot the new Ryzen , would be my guess.

2200G and 2400G support but does not list 2500G. In fact I'm having trouble finding any info on 2500G. Did you mean 2400G?
According to the manual for your board, one single short beep means no issues at startup. I couldn't find anywhere else in the manual what other beeps would mean which was odd. But anyway, it seems everything is working ok except for no image What are you using to connect your monitor to the mobo? Can you try an alternate connection? Like if you're using hdmi, try dvi?
Edit: just saw previous posts. That would explain it and wow great service from amd.

Mobo is stickered as ryzen 2000 ready, so I'm assuming BIOS is supportive of the CPU. Unless you think it's stickered wrong? If it is not updated and the cpu is incompatible still, would the beeps even occur still?

@Sedivy, yes I meant 2400G! The HDMI is the only common port between my mobo and monitor. Monitor also has VGA but Mobo only has display port elsewise

Hum. No other display device you can try? Another monitor? TV even? HDMI has been known to sometimes have issues displaying image correctly unless the right drivers are installed which you can't do without seeing the screen. Try anything with vga or dvi.

As for bios, you'd think that. It says it needs bios v.10 minimum to support it. Sticker would mean that it's installed but it's odd cause nothing else seems wrong. AMD's offer of an older apu that blackbird linked seems really good and I'd take advantage of it cause at least it'll let you rule out bios issue/incorrect labelling but do it after you check with an older monitor, to make sure it's not a port issue.

I've hooked it up to the TV at home and no luck. I don't have anything that accepts display port which is the only thing else that I could try from the Mobo. Would it be worth trying to get displayport-hdmi adapter and test it that way?

Otherwise, my only real solutions at this point would be to claim that boot kit from AMD (Ive already submitted the request but no response due to weekend unfortunately) or to bring it into a computer repair center

Adapters can have their own sets of issues so I'm not sure if that would clear the picture. If you have one handy then sure but if not, don't waste money on it.
Computer repair centre will charge you. Don't do this unless you're in real bind work wise and need computer asap. If amd's kit doesn't work and you can't find anyone with an old vga monitor, then you can think of taking it in.

It could be a Ram issue as well.
If the motherboard doesn't like the RAM... it also won't boot.

Do any other systems show on this display? If I remember right, typically when it comes to beep codes, 1 short beep indicated successful post. I would see if you can hook to another display with vga or dvi. Also maybe try another HDMI cable.

I have made sure my display/monitor works and have tried both the HDMI and display port and VGA connections, as well as with two different HDMI cables.

The tv and monitor I am using work with my other devices.

I want to also correct myself and note that this Mobo uses an AMI BIOS so that means the one short beep is a "memory error". With this, is tested another stick of RAM I ordered on Amazon (bless their return policy) and the same error occurs.

The RAM i tried was Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB DDR4-3000.

I've chalked this up to a DOA motherboard and am ready to request a replacement unless anybody else has a suggestion.

Ok. If you've looked up the code and that is what it says, and another stick of ram does not fix it, even if booting from a single stick, and you've tried multiple inputs on a working display, then I'd venture a guess that there may be something up with your board. It tells me the board isn't completely dead though because it beeps at you. Corsair is usually pretty compatible though.

Did you attempt to reset the cmos? Also, do you happen to have an old GPU you can try in it just to see if you can at least get into the bios etc?
