On scan there is a deal for the 2700, it's £215 right now. I was wondering if now would be a good time to buy it or if it will be cheaper after Christmas. Also wondering if there will be any deals for mobos/gpus after Christmas bc I'm looking to upgrade to a 1070/1070ti and ill need a mobo for the 2700.

If you can wait until CES (mid january) for the Zen 2 announcement and you're not super discontent with your current setup I would do that, the rumors about the ryzen 3000 series and Navi which might come out in May are very promising. If you want to buy now, then that's a decent deal and I doubt prices drop that much after Christmas. Just make sure you get a high-ish quality motherboard VRM-wise just in case you want to upgrade to higher clocked 12/16 core parts when the new CPUs drop.

Sorry I accidentally down voted you answer. Only thing is I'm on a budget and I had only factored for a 2600 for £145 so I'm stretching a bit for a 2700 at £215 I've seen some good deals on asus and gigabyte x470 mobos for about 160 ish and was thinking about a second hand rog strix 1070 for around 300-250. So I don't think I'll have enough for ryzen 3000 or have the time to wait for it, seeing as my cpu has pretty much died and reaches 100% usage with a game and Google chrome open (it's a 6400).

CPUs don't "pretty much die," they're either working or not working. Whether 100% usage is normal depends on the game, but I'd say that's pretty standard depending on the title. Zen 2 is rumored to have 6c/12t parts with higher overclockability for $129 and 8c/16t parts with good out of the box clockspeed for ~$200, I'd imagine the prices will be similar in pounds. You could just get the 2600 now and reevaluate when other parts come out. I don't see you needing the extra 2 cores if you don't stream. Also, 300 pounds for a used GTX 1070 sounds very expensive.

Well maybe my cpu didn't just die but it was good for a couple of months now on rust (which granted is a reasonably intensive game) i get constant stutters and freezes with all windows closed. My cpu is maxed out so its either that or my ram (8gb). im running a gtx 1060 msi gaming x (3gb) with all the sliders turned right down so its on lowest settings so i know its not a vram problem. I've got about 1k subs on yt and i am wanting to get into streaming hence why the 2700 caught my attention, its faster rendering times would also be useful af.

granted the 2700 doesn't have a big performance benefit over the 2600, there definitely is one.

Also, do you think a asus rog stix vega 56 for 360 is a good deal? im not sure if it would just be better to go for a zotac 1070ti at that price range. (you can get the mini for 360)
