Ryzen 3 1200 vs Ryzen 3 2200G which is better in power saving

The 2200G will probably have a higher power draw compared to the 1200 when you use the integrated GPU. However, the 1200 requires a dedicated GPU to be usable. And 1200 + dGPU will take more power than 2200G on it'S own.

So if it's all about power saving and you don't need a GPU stronger than a GT 1030-class, then the 2200G without a dedicated GPU would be the better choice.

This is all speculation though, as the 2200G isn't released yet.

I agree with him, but you also have to consider that these new Ryzen+ APU's are going to be 12nm instead of Ryzen 3's 14nm. So power consumption will be less without sacrificing efficiency.

AMD posted the CPU Specs on AMD Site for Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 5 2400G

Yes, AMD posted some specs, but nobody could test it so far, so nobody knows anything exact, we can only assume things. (E.g. All non-X Ryzen CPUs are rated at 65W by AMD, but a Ryzen 3 1200 still consumes less power than a Ryzen 7 1700.)

My guess is still that the 2200G will have a slightly higher power consumption when using both CPU and iGPU than the CPU of the 1200. The 12nm manufacturing process improvements in power consumption are offset by the higher clock speeds, and the integrated GPU that is added will increase the power draw too.
TL;DR I still say the same as in my first post.
