Hi,

I'm trying to choose which CPU would go well with an RX 480, and I'm wondering, would there be any point in choosing a Ryzen 5 1500 over a Ryzen 3 1300, or would I see no additional benefit at all to justify any added cost given my GPU? I'm primarily looking to do mostly gaming, the usual titles such as Mass Effect Andromeda, Hitman, etc.

Have you considered the Intel i3-8100? Much better than the Ryzen 1200 for the same price.
Or even the i5-8400, one of the best value for money chips at the moment

Just my two cents!

Cheers

If you were worried about budget then you shouldn't go intel, on average Z370 run about $200 and an i5 8400 is also $200, so to upgrade to intel you would need to spend around $400, to upgrade to a ryzen 1300x will be $129 for the CPU and $150 for a motherboard (if you want to overclock, average X370 are about $150) so your saving yourself about $120 by going with the ryzen 1300 (USD Currency)

The i5 is a bit overkill, but worth the money. The need for a Z370 board isn't ideal price wise though- didn't think of that!
