ryzen 3 2200g overclock

my psu does not have an 8 pin connector for a CPU only with a 4 pin. Is that a problem if I want to overclock? I tried to overcook and when I was just doing a CPU, or only the GPU would be all right, and when I want both, then the image gets stuck. Will there be a problem if I overclock only gpu. Can components be damaged?

Just get an adapter cable from 4 to 8pin and that should be enough providing PSU gives enough power to start with.

Yes it is, that's not very power demanding processor.
