Hi,
Im looking for a new CPU on budget and i found Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 5 2600 for the same price. I know these arent the best CPUs in the world, but im a student making a little money. Also the Ryzen 3 3300X is not in stock in my country. I also plan to overclock my CPU to the most optimal option.

My PC specs:
Motheboard: ASUS PRIME B450M-A
GPU: EVGA GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 2x8 3200Mhz 16CL
1x SSD 1xHDD
PSU: GIGABYTE P450B - 450W

Almost everyone suggested the 2600 since it has 2 more cores, but i want to know if the speed of RAM would be better with the 3100 and would perform beter than the 2600. Im playing games at 1080p 144Hz. Mostly R6, VALORANT, CSGO, RL, LOL and some Singleplayer games such as HITMAN. I use Discord and Spotify all the time in the background + some Google Chrome. Can you please help me decide?

They have similar performance in gaming, but I would pick the Ryzen 5 2600, since it has 2 more cores and 4 more threads, but i would only pick it if they are at the same/similar price range.
Hate to dissapoint you, but even though that motherboard is B450 chipset, it has poor VRM for any overclocking.
What ram will you use?

I managed to overclock my Ryzen 3 1200 on this motherboard to 3.9 - 4 Ghz and everything was running fine. The exact RAM is G.skill Aegis 2x8GB 3200Mhz 16CL.

That PSU is not a quality unit. I wouldn't push overclocking with that thing.
As i mentioned in the previous comment already, i overclocked my Ryzen 3 1200 to 3.9-4Ghz + my GPU without any problems at all. + i bought the PSU like a month ago, so its a new piece to my system
