Question Ryzen 3 3250u vs i3-1005g1

Considering 2 hp laptops. One has a ryzen 3 3250u, 1x4gb ram, and a 1 tb HDD. The second has an i3 1005g1, 1x4gb ram, and a 128gb SSD. The ryzen one has an empty m2 slot so I would put on there for booting. Will the hard drive be bad for battery life? I don't need a whole terabyte. Both have 2 ram slots so I can add another stick or whatever. Probably will do that. Anways what cpu will perform better? both 2c/4t some benchmarks say the i3 other the ryzen. Any owners out there?

The CPU's in question have their own strengths and weaknesses, what sort of tasks are you looking to tax the possible laptop with? As for the HDD question, it shouldn't, since the HDD will go into power saving mode when not in use.

light video editing, basic stuff like emails, schoolwork, and probably a little gaming. (not until I get more ram)
