Hi all, i'm looking to build a PC and wanted some opinions. I will predominantly use this for gaming. I like games like: Sims 4 + expansions, Planet Coaster, GTA V, Cities in Motion, Transport Fever... Basically simulation type games.
I've put together a parts list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/4zNWYr
I was wondering about people's opinion with regards to the CPU, I'm planning on a Ryzen 5 1600 but to save about £80, I could drop down to an Ryzen 3 1200 as I'm wondering whether games are optimised for multi core CPUs or do they only use one core? I don't really understand the ins and outs of CPUs!
Also with 2nd gen Ryzen just a couple of weeks away, I feel like should I wait for the latest CPU or use it as an opportunity to bag a 1st gen Ryzen bargain, if that's likely? Or just go ahead an order (that's what I want to do!) For your reference, I'm coming from a 4th gen i5 (laptop)
I'd also like to get an ultrawide 144hz freesync monitor, but AMD GPUs are quite expensive and I'm not sure whether I'll notice buttery smooth visuals in simulation games, hence why I've opted for a 1050ti. Perhaps I should get a regular ultra widescreen at 60Hz or whatever they are... undecided on that.
What do you think?
