[SOLVED] Ryzen 3000 compatibility

Ok so I’m a bit confused. According to this spreadsheet will the Ryzen 5 3600 not be compatible with my ASUS Prime B450M-A motherboard. Because when I went on the motherboards website there was a bios update which I installed which said the motherboard is compatible with the next Gen Ryzen CPU’s

Idk how accurate it is tbh.According to that sheet my msi b450 gaming plus would handle a ryzen 9 3900x..I would tell you now there's no chance in hell my mobo vrm will handle a cpu like that.

The orange asterisk says good cooling is required and motherboard is borderline acceptable for 3900x down to 3600 stock speeds or maximum 3800x if overclock. Doesn't say not compatible for the cpu you inquired about.

Look into vrm cooling fans. Without vrm cooling fans you still should be fine if don't overclock but id look into vrm fans anyway just to be sure.

Except for numbers of cores, there's no difference between 4 core and 16 core 3rd gen Ryzen, you still need a bios to support them so only difference between 3600 and 3900x would be VRM.
