If it is working with your 2600, it will work with the 3600. Motherboard determines ram capability/compatibility.
That is usually true but it will depend on what BIOS version he uses.
On my ROG Strix B450-F with BIOS 1201 and a r5 2600, I had my 3200 RAM running at 3400 with Much tighter timings But since I updated the BIOS and installed a 3700x my RAM will only run at 3200 with only slightly tighter timings.
I have tried multiple times to get it to run at 3333 but it just isn't stable unless I increase the timings a lot which results in worse performance than running it at 3200.

I'm hoping Asus will release a BIOS with better RAM Compatibility / OCing Ability in the future.
