I have been trying to understand a certain detail about my system but i can't seem to find any reliable information about the subject.
I have the APU mentioned in the title, that is my only gpu, with the 2 sticks of ddr4 ram( 8gb2666mhz each).
When i go to the AMD adrenaline software and check on the system settings it lists next to the Vega 8 , the VRAM as 2048 MB DDR4 1333MHz. What i can't wrap my head around is the clock speed of the Vram, does the APU only take the original clock speed of the ram?
I properly enabled xmp to overclock the ram, and it is running correctly on double data rate. It is listed on the system as 16 gb 2666mhz. So why does the VRAM of the APU only use half of that?
(For clarification i don't care about increasing the allotted ram or overclocking it, i just want to understand how the speed of the vram is decided since i can't find any info)
Specs:
Mobo: ASUS Prime a320m-k (only has 2 DIMM slots, DIMM_A1. DIMM_B1)
APU: Ryzen 3 3200g with Vega 8 graphics
Ram: x2 Hyperx Fury 8Gb ddr4 2666Mhz (1333 without xmp enabled)
THank
