[SOLVED] Ryzen 3600 + Aftermarket Cooler or 3700x ?

Hello,

Right now i'm putting together a PC for gaming only, i won't be editing or doing anything else.

Should i buy R5 3600 + Noctua Cooler or R7 3700x with stock cooler ? I will overclock my CPU

There isn't much over clocking that can be done on a 3700X and manually overclocking Ryzens can lead to worse performance. Your best overclocking will be just running Ryzen PBO. In terms of pure gaming performance the 3700X is better than the 3600.

So go for 3700x with stock cooler ?

Get the 3700x. Upgrading the cooling later(if needed) would be much cheaper than upgrading the cpu later.

I have a 3800x, the 3700x is a great cpu. Everything is very snappy, does everything you throw at it quickly. Gaming is smooth.

Its AMD’s a solid chip for the money and the long run.
