Would the VRM layout of a x470 MB be good enough for the 3600x?

Also, what would be the best, cheapest MB that would work with the 3600x or 3700x?

For 3600x, any b450 motherboard should do. For 3700x maybe but a good x470 may be better choice for 3800x and up. Id suggest Asus x470 prime pro as it's proven to be able to handle 2700x at full OC and still leave a lot of reserve.

Thanks, sadly white is not my color schme, reckon the x470 aorus ultra gaming would be good enough?

Yes Aurus is OK as it is but Gigabyte is pretty slow with BIOS development and may be late comparing with Asus. Otherwise I would wait buying any of those until Ryzen 3 is actually released and motherboards are tested with it.
