[SOLVED] RYZEN 3600X SUCKING VOLTS

Hello, i have a ryzen 3600x paired with a b450 tomahawk MSI motherboard, 16GB RAM 3200mz, and i run DEFAULT bios. I only disabled the Precision Boost Overdrive, everything else is on default.

I dont use overclock and i dont really wanna overclock i just want decent voltage cause i am satisfied with the cpu speeds and in IDLE is going nuts and stays around 1.35-1.45 and at 4.1-4.2 GHz. Me moving my mouse causes this ( https://prnt.sc/vmfkc3 ) , a ramp of voltage to 1.41 for no reason. I just want it to use 1.35 when necesary and when im watching something or idlying to stay lower. Any solution apart from going for power saver in power plan?

It's the nature of that chip, and is entirely fine for it to do that; it tunes itself.
It's 'rush to sleep state' behavior IS a power saving feature.
If you had set it yourself to a fixed value like that, then it'd be a problem.
You need do nothing, really.

I don't know what this 'decent voltage' is, but if it's what I think you're thinking... that's outdated, mate.

I suppose you could go into bios and under-volt it a little... I mean, it'll still bounce around like it normally does, and it may run a little cooler - if you already have a good cooler, this does nothing.
Like an offset of -0.01v, for example.

Under-volting doesnt sound kinda good, i dont want to kill the cpu so im just gonna leave it like this, but its so annoying when it boost's up to 1.41v for no reason,

When it boosts from idle it might go as high as 1.45V 1.5V...perfectly normal and as designed. Definitely get used to it. Higher voltage is only harmful if core temperature is also high. When it starts working hard in a heavy processing task and core temp gets hot (up above 80C or so) it will lower voltage to as low as 1.25V.

I would think that RyzenMaster is correct but I don't use it and it can be a bit tricky to understand. Also, clock is not static with Ryzen, it's constantly changing. You have to look at it in a graph form to see what it's really doing. Get HWInfo 64 and create a graph for each core's clock, set polling period to 500mS.

It's what AMD describes as stock behaviour so I would not worry. BTW...before I should have said it boosts up to 1.5V when boosting from idle, not 1.45V.

BUT... you could undervolt using an offset adjustment, but only do it slightly. It won't hurt the processor but if you go too far it will reduce performance and even further will make the system unstable. You also should run some benchmarks to know if you've reduced it enough to impact performance.

Only do it with a negative offset and never a fixed voltage though. "Undervolting" with a fixed voltage can harmful if done incorrectly.
