Dunno if is worth a try but i got a 3600x and msi b450m pro vdh plus. Problems the motherboard bios doesnt support my cpu at its factory version and needs an upgrade, and the amd bios upgrade kit is more work then I want to apply for it if i can avoid it. Heard from a friend that you could run an unsupported cpu in a motherboard to quickly upgrade. Cheers for any advice.

No it won't work. You need a compatible CPU to get to the BIOS before you can update. Seeming as you have them both though, have you tried booting it to see if it has a newer BIOS?
You could see if anyone you know has an older Ryzen CPU you could borrow to update the BIOS.
