I want to change my current build, intel i7 4790, gigabyte z97x gaming 3 for a newer version. Oh, and which mobo should suit well for one of those proc?

Solution
sorry, i forgot to mention that i need the pc for architecture purposes, like autocad and rendering. So i'll look if i can get to a x570 mobo
Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus and Aorus X570 Elite are two decent "budget" X570 motherboards at 200$ price point. I would not reccomend cheaper X570 than that maybe Asus Prime X570-P,Aorus X570 Gaming X for around 170$. To use the PCI-E gen 4.0 capabilities you need a Ryzen 3000 CPU so you have to pick the 3600.

3600 is better for gaming and in multithreading is a bit behind you should have equal multithreading scores with a stock 2700 and 1700X.3600 have better singlecore performance while drawing less power because its a 7nm chip (65w 3600 while 2700X draw 105W). As for motherboard if you use your computer for gaming B450 Tomahawk Max have the best value , good VRM's and its out of the box compatible with the CPU so no need to bios update. If you are working on your computer and the software you use require fast storage then you can look for X570 motherboards.

Honestly it depends what you do and how much you wanna spend. If you can afford to go for the 3700x that will be a great cpu if you don’t wanna spend that much a 2700x is just fine as well and either way you should be able to upgrade to the 4000 series as long as you get a good motherboard

As others have already said, the 3700x is quite a bit better than the 2700x. I can't find anywhere selling the 2700x so I can't even give you a cost comparison.

You don't list what you use this pc for, so you might be better off just saving some money and going with the 3600x instead. Yes, the 3700x is better, but if you aren't running a lot of multi-threaded applications you won't really take advantage of difference. Or at least not for the 100 dollar difference in cost.

3600 is better than gaming than a 2700x so if you can afford it a 3700x should be your target for long term gaming. Motherboard depends on your budget. What is your budget for a motherboard?

I have nearly 170 bucks for it, been searching which one is best for that build that i want but cant find a concrete answer.

The x570 Asus Tuf and Gigabyte Elite have the same VRM's as their $300+ motherboard cousins, at @ $180. They are as good as it gets at anything under a $300+ motherboard and can handle the 3950x, so a 3700x is a no-brainer easy cpu by comparison. They may have a few less bells and whistles as compared to the msi boards, but I'd not touch an msi x570 until after the $300 mark, their VRM's suck vrs Asus, Gigabyte or even ASRock. Top marks for the B450 boards, but msi dropped the ball in the x570's.
