So i currently have a MSI GTX 970 Graphics card, and am planning on upgrading my motherboard + cpu to ryzen 5 1500x and an MSI B350M bazooka
What i want to know is is this processor overkill for my GPU?? should i go with the 1400 instead?? Also, and this is probably a dumb question but a ryzen 5 can fully utilise the 970 yes??

Also i should mention that i have a limited budget so i cannot go for ryzen 7. Its either the intel i5 or the ryzen 5 (1400 or 1500x).

My PSU is a corsair vs650, and apart from the other mentioned parts, i would be running
1. SSD (Transcend)
2. 7.2k rpm HDD (WD)
3. CD/DVD RW drive(Sony)
4. 8gb DDR4 RAM (probably a single stick rather than multiple as those are cheaper)
4. 4 cabinet fans
So I shouldn't have any power related problems either right??

Solution
Get the 1500x over the 1400, the 1500x comes with a better cooler and OC higher if you want to OC, other than that even at stock speed the 1500x is just the better processor. And the 1500x will not bottleneck the gtx 970. Also I would pick the 1500x over the i5. :)
