I haven't personally seen any overclocking reports for the 1400, but the 1500X's higher stock clock speeds and L3 cache seem like they're worth $20. I'd get that but I doubt you'd be disappointed with either if you're trying to game. The 1500X comes with a beefier stock cooler as well and might allow for some OCing whereas the 1400s is pretty small and may not.

I thought X models didn't include a cooler at all?

Need more info, will you be playing games? At how much FPS aswell?

1500x comes with a wraith spire and it is a way better choice than the 1400 for longevity as it'll get a higher performance boost and with the bios and driver updates performance will only get better and better So choose the 1500x unless you can't afford the extra 20$ in which case the 1400 is pretty good for gaming

i will be going with the r5 1600 beacause its better value and more futureproof and I will be pairing it with the upcoming rx 570 4gb

PS. The r5 1500x and 1600 come with a cooler, the wraith spire, meanwhile the 1600x doesnt come with a cooler at all and the 1400 comes with a downgraded cooler the wraith stealth

My budget is 900€ for the 7 main parts. I just thought going with a rx 570 now and upgrading it later. I only have a 1080p 60hz monitor so a 570 would be perfect for it.

Every AMD Cpu that has a 95W TDP doesn't get a cooler, everything else does. Thats why the 1700,1500X and the 1400 get one and the 1600X,1800 and 1800X don't

Please don't spreadfalse information .The 1500x comes with a wraith spire cooler .There is not 1500 and the 580 is not worth it if the price difference is huge and 1600 is as good as the 1600x if it is slightly overclocked

It's good for the consumer, that's all that matters imo. AMD has rarely ever locked any their processors.

Also, 1600X is binned I think so better OC will be more likely on it.
