Question Ryzen 5 1500x

Hello ! I made this post to ask if anyone knows , would a Ryzen 5 1500x still be compatible with newer motherboards !
The thing is , my poor mother is struggling with terrible performance on her old Machintosh
, so i want to throw that old 2013. Mac model in the garbage , and assemble her a windows PC with components i have lying around in my home ! I figured it would still be 10 times better than what she has now ! She just needs a browser Pc to use for paperwork and browse the internet and watch movies ! I have most of the parts allready from previous builds
Like a 1070 ti GPU
16 gb of Corsair ram
1000w psu !
fans etc.
i have the Ryzen 1500x also lying in the shelf still in working order, but im not sure if the motherboards these days would still be compatible with it ! Anyone out there know a Board that would work with the cpu or should any Am4 be ok ? Was considering a mini ATX build.

A 400 series motherboard would be the newest you can probably go. As AM4 motherboard BIOS images added support for the 5000 series CPUs some dropped the 1000 series CPUs. So CHECK THE MANUFACTURER'S WEBPAGE for the specific motherboard you are interested in.
A 1500x CPU is pretty dated by current standards. The good news is a B450 or similar motherboard can support the 5000 series CPUs.

i'd say the same. a 300 or 400 series board should still support the 1500. though as said above, check the specs to see if it has been updated for 5000 series cpu's out of the box. that removes support for the 1000 series ryzen chips.

has not been updated for 5000 series so works with your 1500. dirt cheap as well
