[SOLVED] Ryzen 5 1600 AF all of a sudden running at full voltage/clock speed at idle

Hey,

I've been using a ryzen 5 1600 af for the past few weeks, and I bought an aftermarket cooler. Before, I used to have 30ish ºC at idle, when all of a sudden the cpu started running at full speed and full voltage at idle, I don't know why.

It's not overclocked, and I'm using balanced power mode on Win 10, version 2004.

Mobo: Gigabyte B450M DS3H.

Anyone have any clue as to why that is?

i've noticed that my HDD is at 'caution' on crystal disk info. Maybe this could be the problem? Although I use an SSD as primary/OS drive.

I don't think so but you never know I guess

I've tried everything now:

updated bios (latest version);
formatted PC;
Power mode to 'balanced';
Restarting wmi provider;

Nothing changed.

If you have enabled Windows 10 Telemetry it could be collecting data in the background when idle. it's only 10% of CPU, and it's running full on 1 core to complete as quickly as possible
